What do you fear?

What do you fear most?  For some it is spiders, heights or public speaking.  For many others, the very real state of our economy, the devastating fires that ravage our state or the ever present fear of losing a job top the list.  In the midst of all the unsettling concerns that we wring our hands over, whether real or imagined, the LORD speaks.  The LORD reassures.  The LORD gives peace.

“I have chosen you and have not rejected you.  So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”  Isaiah 41:9b-10

God is faithful and true to His promises.  Take a moment to read and re-read the passage from Isaiah.  Count the commands and the promises and then by faith obey and take hold of them.  We can either worry about all the unknowns of tomorrow or trust the One who holds us in the palm of His merciful and all powerful, righteous right hand.
